Blackjack ABC’s – Part 1

[ English ]

The basic concept of the game is to be dealt cards adding up to twenty-one. Every gambler is given two cards. When a black jack player is dealt a nine or less and an Ace they have been dealt a soft hand. When the player is dealt no Ace it is referred to as a hard hand. Once the cards have been dealt all players at the table, including the dealer, every player is given the chance to make 1 of six actions:

Requesting another card (Hit): When a black jack player says "hit" the dealer will deal them another card, if the adding of that card makes the total greater than 21 the black jack player will have busted and that’s the end of the game, if the card pushes the total to twenty one the player wins and if the value of the hand hasn’t yet reached twenty one they are still in the game.

Keeping the hand you have been given: If a player is happy with the hand they will hold. As soon as this has happened the dealer will disclose his or her hand and the black jack player who has accumulated twenty-one or the closet to twenty-one will acquire a win.

Doubling Down: A blackjack player may request to double down which increases the bet by one hundred percent they have made. Once you’ve taken this action you can only receive one more card. The details of doubling down are usually specified by the blackjack table or casino rules so prior to competing make certain you are comfortable with the casino rules. If you are betting at a web casino this is normally quite simple.
